Before starting the corporate identity study, it is necessary to make sure that the company and the design team are describing the same work. The following questions make not only aesthetic preferences but also the expectations of use, decision and delivery visible.

Questions that determine the direction of work

1. What problem should this work solve? The aging of appearance, mixing of products, and opening up to a new audience are different beginnings.

2. Who is the primary target audience? Identify the person who will stand out in communication, rather than thinking about all customers in one group.

3. What should be protected from the current identity? There should be justification for changing the recognized color, icon, or name.

4. What claim can the brand prove? Limit the experience, success, or product promises to be used in the text to verified information.

Questions that determine the application

5. What surfaces will the ID be used on? List the outputs needed for web, packaging, signage and presentation.

6. How many languages and variants do you need? Branch or product differences can grow the adaption business.

7. Who will provide the contents? Those responsible for the logo file, photo and text should be obvious at first.

8. Are the manufacturer's technical requirements ready? Record what assumption the design is proceeding with if the measure or template is unclear.

Questions that determine approval and delivery

9. Who will make the final decision? There may be more than one person's contribution; conflicting comments must be made into a common decision.

10. How to conduct a revision? Separate the new concept request with the correction of the current direction.

11. What files will be delivered? Speak the editable template, vector file, and instruction manual separately.

12. How to change old materials? Update order and share point of new files should be determined.

Combine these answers in a short brief. Unknown points can be marked; the important thing is that the designer does not have to guess the blanks on behalf of the company.
