In a family of products, it is not enough to make the first packaging look beautiful. As the brand continues to be recognized when different grammatical, flavor or model is added, the products must also be separated. When talking about the packaging design scope, it is necessary to specify the difference between the single product and the whole series from the beginning.

Definite the production template

The box, label, bag or cylinder surface is not prepared with the same layout logic. The current template of the manufacturer should be used which shows the cutting, joining and printing areas. The three-dimensional presentation visual does not replace the technical production file. The continuation of text and visuals should be checked, especially at the junction locations.

Separate fixed and variable information

Logo, product family name, and basic layout can remain constant; variant color, grammatical, and some descriptions may vary. Determine which information should be distinguished from a distance. Keep the variant name readable instead of relying on the difference in color alone. Try out how the system will expand when the new product is added.

Separate content verification from design approval

Contents, usage information, barcode and regulatory fields must be verified by the relevant expert or business. The designer places this information; assumes their accuracy and does not send it to production. Before printing, small texts should be read on sample output and actual measurement control.

When evaluating the packaging price, ask about the scope of the main design, variant adaptation, technical preparation and rehearsal support. If the serial logic is initially installed, not every new product becomes a completely new design problem. However, consider that switching to different packaging type is not just a matter of changing colors.
