Is design done with artificial intelligence? Yes, these tools can be used in visual production and in some stages of design. However, we do not recommend using the output produced as the final design of your brand without evaluating it. An impressive image does not mean correct message, readable information, and application-ready file.
What problem does design solve?
Think of the poster of a school event. The visual can be very impressive; but if the event date remains in the background, the poster does not perform its basic task. It is necessary to evaluate the success of the design not by how many seconds it is produced, but by what the audience understands. This measure is independent of the fact that the work is produced by man or a vehicle.
Before you start working, write three sentences: To whom do we call? What do we want to say? What do we expect the minister to do? Compare his visual choices to these answers. Only giving commands that are "more professional" or "more striking" does not solve the communication problem itself.
What should you check on the printout that looks good?
The correctness of the texts, understanding the order of importance at first glance, and readability of different measures should be examined together. A social media sharing is on the phone; the poster is on the actual print scale; the logo should be tested in small and single color use. Check also if the product, location, or service in the visual represents what is actually offered correctly.
A small experiment for students
Prepare two drafts describing the same event. Construct one based on the ready output, placing the other by yourself in the title, date and call. Give three people a short time to ask what the event is, where it will be done, and date. It is not a scientific research; it is a simple exercise to question your own decisions. It allows you to realize that visual acknowledgment and information transfer are not the same thing.
Where does the graphic designer come in?
The expert evaluates the brief; eliminates it on the basis of alternatives, establishes the visual language of the brand and prepares the delivery files for use. The use of artificial intelligence does not eliminate these responsibilities. Do not send an incomplete checklist to direct publication or print.
