In the box opening design, it should be considered together with the safe transport of the product, easy removal and meeting with the right information. The flamboyant presentation alone is not enough.
Draw opening order
Make the movement of the customer from the outside package to the product into a small scheme. Where does the tape open, what part is removed, when does the usage information appear? If an unnecessary layer makes it difficult to reach the product, visually stylish does not make it useful. Determine in this order at what point you should tell the user.
Separate graph with structural design
Carton thickness, transport resistance and internal protective solution should be evaluated with the packaging manufacturer. Graphic design is placed on top of these decisions. Do not consider the three-dimensional presentation on the screen to be a production test. Fill the sample with the actual product; observe the movement, opening and re-closing of the product. Plan the appropriate transport test with the supplier according to the needs of the product.
Place the information in the correct layer
The external surface handling and recognition can take over the internal card initial use routing. However, the required information should not be left on an ornamental paper to be discarded alone. If there is an explanation that needs to be read before accessing the product, take it to the beginning of the opening order. If you are using a QR connection, add a printed short redirect; do not assume that the customer will have the phone in hand in any case.
Question the reason for the extra material
Each additional piece should have a duty in terms of protection, information or use. Do not write environmental claims that the manufacturer does not confirm into the packaging. Consider everyday tasks such as separation of materials and storage of the box. Evaluate the moment when the customer is ready to use the product, not just the photogenic opening, in the final review.
